About the game
Void Runner is a love letter to the 1979 Atari arcade classic Asteroids — same vector aesthetic, same twitchy momentum physics, same panic when a large asteroid breaks into two medium ones right in front of your ship. It’s been rebuilt for the modern browser with neon glow, particle exhaust trails, and a hyperspace mechanic that rewards bravery.
Tips
- Don’t over-thrust. Momentum is your enemy. Tap the thruster in short bursts to reposition, not sprints.
- Shoot the mediums first. Large asteroids move slowly and are easy to dodge. Mediums are the ones that’ll catch you off guard.
- Use wrap-around. If an asteroid is approaching from the right, flying off the left edge and coming back behind it works every time.
- Save hyperspace. Only use it when you’d definitely die otherwise — the 10% death chance is still better than certain death.
